Expressing his admiration for the text, the actor described it as a captivating and inspiring work. It is worth noting that Oppenheimer himself, well-versed in Sanskrit, found solace in the Bhagavad Gita, particularly during the aftermath of the successful atomic bomb test in 1945. At that moment, he reflected on the quote, “Now I become Death, the destroyer of worlds.”

During an interview with Sucharita Tyagi, Murphy was asked about the influence of the sacred text on Oppenheimer, to which he responded by acknowledging his inspiration from it. He studied the Bhagavad Gita in depth to be prepared for the part, realizing its consoling and uplifting qualities. Reflecting on his experience, Murphy playfully remarked, “Well, don’t grill me on it!” before expressing his genuine admiration, stating, “I just found it very beautiful.”
